I want to share my pieces. that are called "New Orleans Puzzle" on the west coast. A lot of you seem to have found them called "Star Spin". I really love the outcomes since chosing the fabrics can be a puzzle. The colors are suppose to graduate from light to dark but I can't seem to get that to work.

Looks like something else to add to my "to do" list. Those are really cool!

gorgeous

Beautiful. Love your colors.

While this piece looks to have 4 sections done in one set of fabrics & the other 4 sections another, they are all made from the same strip set. They are cut out by turning the template up & down. If you look at them closely, you can see where the wide strip on one edge is the tiny one on the other.

Awsome, i need that patterns, the colors are soo pretty
|
They are beautiful!!!! I have the pattern and the directions were not written very well so I had probs and never did finish mine.
|
They are beautiful! I cannot wait to try one.
|
Totally awesome.
|
Wow! I really like that. I've never heard this pattern called by that name but I'm pretty sure if it were to be made by anyone in New Orleans they would be either black and gold (Go Saints!) or purple, green, and gold (Mardi Gras colors).
Another project added to my to-do list..... thanks for sharing! :D |
Very impressive!
|
Beautiful

Nice! I just ordered that pattern a few days ago. Now I really can't wait to get it!
|
WOW! Those are stunning :D:D:D

I'm starting to collect the colors for mine and I thought just the star spin could be made from FQ, but I was wrong. you'll need at least a 42" wide fabric so I'm planning to go to WM tomorrow to see if they have any fabrics on sale. They are getting ready to move across the street and they are going to discontinue thier fabrics so I best go there to get any thing if I can. I hope I can. I'm planning to put mine on the table like you have yours. Your is very pretty even if you couldn't get it to come from dsrks to lights so that goes to show, it may not make a diffrence as long as it will work out. Have a great day, Huggies, Fay

I don't even think about doing fabrics lights to dark. I pick a focus fabric I love then pick others to loosely work with it. I also pick one accent pc. that stands out from the rest then I'm careful where I place it. I hope those of you who love the pix. will try it. |
Very pretty.

I hope your pattern tells you to use "scant" 1/4" seams when you sew your strips together. If you don't, your templates may not fit top to bottom. There is no room for error on the fit. Also, do not cut off the uneven end of your strip set. You will need the space for the corners of your templates. This may sound confusing to you if you haven't read your pattern carefully but it all falls together eventually. Pat |

All of these are beautiful. Really like the top one for fall decorating. Just saw this first time last week. Immediately said this has to be one of my next projects. Lovely work and great color combinations.
