I've just got home from an 8 hour drive, where I picked up my "new" baby. It's a 201K Singer manufactured in Clydebank Scotland. I bought it for the equivalent of $35 USD. Woohoo!
The condition of the machine is superb. Just stunning. I've popped it in my my shed until I can "sort" the borer holes in the cabinet. There aren't many, I just want to make sure they aren't new ones. Oh, and get another pair of hands to help me get it into the house. Here's a sneaky peak :) |
Gorgeous! She looks brand new!!!

I have one too. 1937 Singer 201K, was a hand cranked machine originally. |

Purplefiend - your Singer looks beautiful.
The cabinet with this machine, isn't what I think of when I think of a "traditional" Singer. On the positive side - I won't have to dust so much :) Sorry the picture isn't that good. |

Oh my, I have its twin brother.Cabinet and all!!!
Bought mine for $20- Australian dollars, 30 years ago, and I thought that was a great deal then.I'll try and find a pic. By the way, what's its number? |
Lindy you did do well. What a beautiful machine, and you got it for a really good price.
My serial number is: ED142193 It really excites me that so many people are fond of treadle and hand crank sewing machines. I love see what people create on them. The attachments on my treadle will do more functions than my computerized machine (circa late 1980s). |
You'll love it. I bought one not as mint looking and the motor did not work so DH put it in the treadle. She runs so nice!
