I was thinking the same thing... But have a feeling hubby will claim this one.. He seems to be partial to the poly ones...

It is beautiful. When ever my Thrift shop has something like that or I should say they are usually rags by the time they get them, they put a crazy high price on it and it just sits there for months not being loved.

np3 10-07-2010 11:25 AM

Quite unusual to get one this nice looking at this price. You got a bargain.

I like it - the colors are very vibrant - looks like it's well made.

Wow! Nice!

I recently read somewhere that polyester quilts are a new craze for collectors. You did good!

Annaquilts 10-07-2010 01:46 PM

Love it! Great find and because it is polly I will hopefully nearly last forever. I think polly has its place too especially since that was common during the time frame it was made.

I believe it! I like them too. Reminds me of a time and some sweet elderly ladies that have far long gone.

Love it and very glad it has found a home! I love poly quilts, warm, heavy and just full of love!

Melinda in Tulsa 10-08-2010 06:25 PM

Lovely. I remember my mother making a poly quilt, back in the 70's. I wish I had it to remember her by. I'm glad you got it and know you will give it a good home.

Wow, what a great find. So glad that you are able to give it a good home.

Gramof6 10-08-2010 07:53 PM

WOW! What a great quilt! I certainly would have bought it also. The price you paid is a steal. Do you ever wonder about the maker or what they were going through in their lives when piecing a quilt? I do & wish fabric could talk. Except when it is me as the piecer. :D You don't want to hear some of my conversations with blocks. :D :D :D Happy that you rescued this beauty.

I just went to the thrift shops today and found two sample blocks 2.00 a piece. First time I ever saw a quilt when going consignment shopping...Woohoo...what a deal!!! - not as good as your deal...but wow...the work someone put into these!!! I was glad to give them a home.

This is an awesome find. Our thift shops usually have junk or almost junk and the prices are really higher than you would think. This is a very pretty design. Hope you enjoy!

maggie2122 10-08-2010 11:25 PM

Nice rescue

carolaug 10-08-2010 11:40 PM

This use to be my TV cabinet, with the TV's getting bigger and bigger I could no longer use it but could not part with it either. so now it holds my pots and pans, coffee maker, and bowls.
