Well I decided to start a paper piecing project. I'd seen so many lovely paper pieced blocks, etc, on here and other places that I wanted to try it for myself. Boy am I glad I did!

The result is this wall hanging-to-be which I am very excited about and just a little proud of. ;) This marks my first paper piecing project, as well as my first border (but heck, that part was easy). Anyway, I know the flower is slightly off centered on its stem, but I really don't care. It's either my artistic signature or my lovably flawed child. Either way, I'm happy. :)

Now to back, bat, and quilt! Any suggestions for how I should quilt this baby?

How about some sun rays in the top part and echo quilting in the lower part?

You did a great job for your first piece!

That is so pretty!! Great job. Another future project--paper piecing! I can't get one thing done soon enough to try another.

I know the feeling!! There are so many wonderful things I can't wait to try...I just need to make sure I sit down and finish all these things I've started!

Great first-time project.

On to the quilting...

Option 1  Tight meandering on the white background to make the flower pop

Option 2  Echo quilting on the white background to make the flower pop

Option 3  One-way diagonal lines across the entire front using a fairly large stitch to imitate rain

No matter what you choose, I am sure it will be really cute.
