My attempt at Cathedral window binding

Well, I thought I would give this a try but it did not turn out too well. It worked a little but I think I would have had better luck if I had cut my binding on a bias instead of on straight of grain. Then it would have had more stretch.
Here is the link to the tutorial, which was very good and I loved how it came out. http://www.quiltingboard.com/tutoria...g-t184029.html Just wanted to give my suggestion to try a bias binding if you want to try this. I made my scallops approx. 4.5-4.75 apart and still the middle did not want to give enough so my scallops are not so deep. Also had to add a pic of my helper???? He approved if I would just pet him once in a while. |

nice quilt- i'm a little confused about the cathedral window reference- since it's a pin-wheel quilt- can't really see the binding on it unless that wide outer border is actually binding? anyway- i like the quilt-nice job.

A very nice effect! Beautiful quilt. Gorgeous inspector and doing a great job :)

sorry- didn't see the other 2 pics before responding- and i went & looked at the tutorial - so now i 'get it' - i think part of the reason it didn't really work so well is because the striped fabric is so predominate-
it's still a nice quilt though. |

Oh, that is wonderful...I love it! The binding just make it more unique, which is always my favorite!
You have a stunning helper, one that seems to love the feel of the material from all sides! Definately a keeper there! |
Very nice quilt and a pet who looks like they like it.

Very interesting I am not sure I 100 % follow your binding..
