I have some pretty green Christmasy fabric with some holly on it that I think I just may have enough for the backing. If not, I will use white. Bought a bolt of it for backing quilts. Got the bolt for $5/yd and the bolt hadn't been cut and it's 108" wide on there. I'm thinking someone mismarked it. Their mistake...MY GREAT BUY! :)

3 Days!!!! You are amazing. I can never whip anything out that fast. It must have been 3 days of no sleep and no food! Looks good too.

Vicki...that's just the top. It's not batted or backed. lol

Part of me wants to keep it, part of me wants to sell it. If I sell it, that means I need to figure out a price. Just the cardinal fabric was $8/yard and it took about 2 yards. The backing I have picked out was $8/yard too. Not sure how much I'll need, maybe 4 yards? so there's $48 already. I'm thinking if I sell it, it can go for $75. I won't go any higher only because I don't know what will sell and what won't. Since it's always warm here, I don't know how well quilts will do, but they COULD sell to those who have families in cold climates. Know what I mean?
I do need to find some gold thread so I can quilt it. I figured I can "x" thru the 9 patch. Thought of "x"ing thru the cardinal block, but that would take away from it. So, after my meeting tomorrow, it's off to find thread.

Terri: Love your Cardinal quilt. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Terri: I've heard that when someone sells their handmade items they charge DOUBLE the cost of making it plus assign a dollar amount for time spent. I went to a quilt show last week end and some of the quilts for sale at the show were selling from $275 to $985. More than I could ever afford for a quilt and more than I would ever even consider paying but for some people who want and appreciate handmade and are decorating their homes they will gladly pay the price for what they want. As I said, I couldn't pay those prices and I've never sold anything I've made so I'm no expert.

Well I love that one, its just gorgeous. I remember that fabric, one from Hong Kong. You made a really pretty quilt out of that.

Super duper....

Well, I'm going to try for maybe $100. Might come down on the price, depending on who/what is buying/selling.

No, Elle, that's not fabric from Hong Kong. All my HK fabric is silk and brocade, haven't done anything with that as of yet.
This was stuff I found at the bottom of a pile in Ben Franklins.

There is another store here on island. They sell mostly stuff for homes and for dress making..not alot of cotton. Going to just go and check them out and see what they might have new.
