I still haven't figured out why my pictures load sideways, but oh well.
So, the quilt top is a D9P. I want to quilt it myself so I read up on the idea of making practice "sandwich" pieces. I decided to not waste my practice piece. I made it into a doll size quilt for a friends baby. I figure giving it to her when she's only 3 mos. old she'll grow up thinking it's beautiful, instead of seeing all the mistakes.
I have never done any machine quilting, so I was just doodling- getting the feel for the machine. Mid-stream I decided.... hmmm.... guess I'll go google what meandering is, what stippling is and what is the difference between the two. Also, read an article about FMQ. Probably none of what I did is any of the 3. It was meandering all over the place. haha! Maybe that counts. No matter, I am really proud of it! And that I did it all myself. Yay! I hope to quilt the top tomorrow.

Wow! Great job for just "doodling". I think you're a natural.

haha! They're in there. But, you'll notice I didn't take any pictures close up. :-)
Thanks for the compliment! I'm totally green as a gourd here with making quilts, so I appreciate feedback. I can't believe I've waited this long to start making them. I've got lots of time to make up for!

Thank you! One of the things I read showed a picture of someones doodles..... don't know how that worked. It did just seem to come to me rather easily. I think the gloves I was wearing were great, though. They had little rubbery nobbies on them and really helped with the gripping.
It was a lot of fun! Can't wait to start on the real one tomorrow. I was able to get a feel for controlling the speed, hence, the stitch length. Hope I still remember it in the a.m. :-)
