My Dresden Plate quilt is DONE! I posted a few months ago that I needed help deciding how to lay out this - what sashing, etc. I'm so pleased with all your help and the results! I handpieced the plates and the corner pieces and then quilted on my longarm. The SID on the longarm is WAY too hard but I was into it too far to take it out. Next time I'll do something else.

There is a plastic template (ruler??) that has the shape....it's so simple to use, i wouldn't bother with figuring out how to calculate!!! Here's a pic. http://www.amazon.com/Wrights-Easy-D.../dp/B000UXH9KQ I could swear I paid less than $7.00 for it at the LQS.

thanks! i see what you mean! i make my own templates. i was given globs of started projects from a 90 yr old lady and i made templates out of her stuff so i can finish ...there are morning stars; log cabin; dresdan plates; wedding rings...
