While in Greece this past summer I bought this oil.
DiDn`t want to pay big bucks to have it framed , so I made this. I left some canvas showing as I din`t want to cut off the artists signature, I wised I`d made the first orange strip wider but live n learn lol. I still need to quilt around some fish. Gale |
Very clever. I would have never thought to sew through canvas like that. Great frame! Thanks for sharing!

I din`t sew trough the canvas. I just made a pocket.

How creative!

This is a cool idea. Did you follow a pattern or instructions? Is there a link with such information? I'd like to make one but haven't a clue how it should go together.

What a neat idea!

How clever is that!!
It really sets of your painting   |
That is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!! How ingenious is THAT?! That's even better than a big, over-priced framing job!

Beautiful. What creativity

bettle I did buy a pattern but wished I hadn`t after looking at it.
Could have figured it out. THe first row is 11/2 inch with some thin iron stablizer folded in half like binding then sew folded side towards picture. I sewed one side strip then measured picture and sew the other then bottom and top. You sew this to a background you don`t see. The rest is what ever width you want with no stablelizer. Here`s the web site you can get ideas www,uppercanadaquiltworks.com The pattern I bought shows 3 side by side snapshot size so I want to make to give with my next baby quilt. Good luck. Gale forgot to say I quilted a big x on the background under picture to hold batting. |
Very nice.

Gale,I love that. Nice colors.
I've always wanted to go to Greece. The place has always fascinated me. I'm saving for a trip there but it may take me 2 or 3 more years to get enough money. What part of Greece did you visit? Oh. I wish I could go this year!! ranger |
