All the recent talk of paper piecing - I just had to give it a try! I downloaded the block from Brenda Henning's site because I could watch the videos for that block on Quilters TV and on QNN. http://www.bearpawproductions.com Let's just say I'm going to look for one without the curved inset  I'm pretty pleased with my first attempt, tho.
I picked up a package of June Tailor foundation paper and had to use a glue stick to actually glue the top of the foundation paper to a sheet of printer paper to get it to go thru my color laser printer - not something I want to do on any regular basis. The only other issue I ran into was keeping the pieces and the reverse pieces straight, so I just did all my A pieces and then all my B pieces. The curved seam was the first I've ever done; I definitely need to practice on that! |
Good Job! I can't believe it is your first block, Wow :D You were very brave picking one that had the curved insets too! :D I cut, stack, pin and label all my pieces so that I can keep them straight. I also mark on the paper which color goes where before I print them all out. I HATE ripping out pieces  I can't wait to see more of your work :D
