My First Tactile Quilt

3 Attachment(s)
I finished my first tactile quilt with help from my girlfriend Chris. We're going to ship it off to Caring Hands in Utah.
It took a year, mostly because I needed to wrap my head around "no rules apply....colors don't go together...etc.
It was actually fun to do, once my friend started coming up with the embellishments. It is here, looking forward to comments and suggestions. Enjoy!

Very sweet quilt. One of my guilds made them for an assisted living home. They were so much fun to make. The more "touchy-feely" things the better!!!

I think you did a great job. There's lots of stuff for busy hands to fuss with. Your generosity will truly be rewarded. Thanks for sharing and inspiring.

I do a lot of charity quilts....I should do some tactile quilts for assisted living and for the school for the blind....you have given me an idea...will start "gathering" this afternoon..

This is a new concept for me and I love it! Your quilt is wonderful and I enjoy looking at all the different textures etc. It will be much enjoyed by someone. I am going to start gathering fabrics and other highly tactile trims and items that I can use to make a similar quilt! I imagine that there are many agencies that would welcome this type of quilt. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you! Have fun! I've been rummaging thru Joanne's Scrap bins. Lots of good finds especially when they're 50% off.

I heard about tactile quilts here on this board. Thank you for showing this one. Now I have a better idea of how to make one.

like i said it took me a year to understand the concept...but once I got over it ....making a "crazy looking quilt" was a lot of fun!!!

It's made with 9inch blocks. 6 across by 6 down.
