Thats how she pronounces it  She used to just want to quilt when I was, now she will just say"Gramma, I want to "queelt"! And I will have to stop what I am doing so we cant hand "queelt". She doesn't want a knot in the thread, she likes to be able to pull it all the way through!!  And she does not want help!!! She actually got 2 stitches on the needle the day I took these pictures and she was so excited!!!! :D

Barbm 03-07-2009 04:47 PM

when my daughter was little she wanted to learn to sew. I gave her needle and thread and construction paper. She "sewed." I still have some of them- she's now 30.

It's so nice the two of you will have this to share! Someone needs to take a pic of the 2 of you together!

What a cutie! You realize, of course, that you're aiding and abetting a minor in encouraging her to acquire these dastardly skills!

Qarena 03-07-2009 11:28 PM

She's a real cutie. It is great to pass on the love of quilting.

Marcia 03-07-2009 11:29 PM

Sew Sweet...You should make a photo montage for your sewing room of these precious photos, and add more when she progresses to bigger and better things in the future...

jacquemoe 03-08-2009 01:33 PM

How precious is that!!!!!!! I'm sure I know exactly what you mean when you say she doesn't want to do something the way you want her to. Wyatt is the same way. I should take a picture of him at the sewing machine. He loves to sew. He knows more about how my machine operates than his mom does  He can make it go fast, slow, backwards, change stitches and raise and lower the pressure foot.
She's so sweet looking.

ScrapQuilter 03-08-2009 04:56 PM

That is so nice......... a quilter in the making and she is so cute too.
Grandma you are passing on tradition.
