I didn't realize I had this many scraps till I started to put this quilt together. It is fun to look at it now and see all the pieces from quilts I have now made in the past and they have all come together as a new quilt. I don't think it shows up, but I embroidered several strips on each block throughout the quilt with embroidery floral designs from my sewing machine. I did FMQ.

The Quilt

The Bag to carry the quilt in lined with backing from the quilt and a pocket like a block from the quilt

And, of course, a pillow to lay my head on while I nap with my scrappy

The quilt and the bag are very pretty! It has a nice look. Did you have any color rules? Such as I won't use purple?

Nice work. Reminds me of an old timey string quilt.

Nice to see what you can do with lots of scraps. Beautiful!

There is purple in it, too. I had no color rules...just started grabbing strips out of my box of scraps and whatever fit went together next as long as I wasn't putting same colors too close together. The strips are sewn together overlapping like a crazy quilt technique, only in diagonal strips starting from the middle and out toward opposite corners. Lots of fun to make even if there is no pretty specific pattern to it. Thanks for the complements.

That is really pretty.
Did you sew the strips to a foundation square, then cut your triangles from that? I want to used up all my little strips of left overs and looks like this would work.

Yes...I cut the foundation square approx. 7x7, but any size will work, because when you are done you sew 4 together to make one actual block, which is then approx. 14x14 on mine by using the 7x7 and that gives it the diamond shape. The color of the foundation square is the gap in the center of each small block where you start sewing in oppisite directions.
