Since I'm new here, I thought I would share the last few projects I have been working on. All of these have been done since the beginning of June. Some are still WIP.

Airplane Quilt (started hand-quilting it, but it's just too hot right now to finish, will start quilting it again this fall)

Yes the vegetables caught my eye too, but like the airplane a lot. Some very nice work

Roben 07-21-2008 04:03 AM

Welcome from Iowa! Great work - I can't wait to see the garden one put together :D

KellyPA 07-21-2008 04:29 AM

Thanks everyone!

I'm excited about the garden one too, but I'm missing about 8 browns I need to finish it. I'm hoping to visit my mom this week and dig through her stash to see if she has what I need. I purchased some brown material off of ebay, but it wasn't enough. I don't need much, so I don't want to go out and buy 8 pieces of material, but I will if mom doesn't have anything.

Thanks again!
Hugs!

yes, the garden one will be neat..
try Hancocks for browns or Joanns fat quarters...

KellyPA 07-21-2008 05:17 AM

Loretta,

The star pattern is called "Poinsettia". I'm currently working on another one in different colors. It will be an anniversary gift for my husband's aunt and uncle.

Thanks!
Kelly

All great projects, but I do like your garden the best. Is it paper pieced?

gcathie 07-21-2008 05:45 AM

those are really nice...you so great work!!....show us more!! can't get enough :D

KellyPA 07-21-2008 06:06 AM

Thanks eveyone!

Marcia,

yes they are paper pieced....my preferred method, even though my mom says I'm cheating. I have done template pieced, but I am enjoying this so much more! I also cross stitch, sew, knit, crochet, and do other varies crafts. For the last 10 years I have been mainly a cross stitcher. I have some pictures, but not many here..... http://www.picturetrail.com/everythingus

Thanks!
Hugs

Everything is beautiful. Great Job! Keep it up

Marcia 07-21-2008 08:19 AM

Kelly-I love to paper piece too-and I do not think it is cheating-it is just another method of piecing. Just like there are many methods of applique. I looked at your other projects too-very nice. You are talented-and busy! I like to cross stitch too, but have not done much since I started quilting.

Welcome to the board!!! Marcia

Wonderful work!!! I think I'm in love with the garden one too!!! Can't wait to see it finished!! The table topper and matching hot pad are awesome!! Hot pads are soo much fun to make, kind of like instant gratification!! :)

Welcome from Sunny Southern California. I am a cross stitcher too!! Though havn't done so much since I went back to work 7 years ago and also quilting has taken up a lot of time. I still have several cross stitch patterns I intend to do. My favs are Lavender & Lace/Told in a garden, especially the angels. Be careful, this quilting is awfully addicting, especially the fabric buying part!!!

Chele 07-22-2008 04:20 AM

Haven't tried PP, but, love your work. Never heard anyone here call it cheating. I thnk it would be hard and anything hard can't be cheating!!!!
