My Low Volume Quilt
 

I decided I would try something new, for me, at least. It's a Low Volume Quilt with over 150 Modern Fabrics. They are 3" squares, cut with my GO machine. It was fun to make.

What do you think? It was inspired by L&R Designs Quilting Blog. I just love her choice in fabrics. Thanks for looking!

I like the variety of this quilt .... very comfortable! Congratulations on its completion .... it must have taken a great of time stitching all those squares together. :thumbup:

I have always liked scrappy quilts

I am a fan of "low volume." This is a great quilt! More, more, more....

What does "low volume" mean? Is it not as thick?

You know how people refer to bright, bold colors as "loud". I think "low volume" just means the opposite. The quilt has very soft, muted colors

I love the way it turned out but then again I love scrappy

It looks great. I don't know what a low volume quilt is

that looks like an old Mennonite quilt I have at home, except that it was pieced with all scrappy 9-patches but no nine-patch pattern and the squares are more like 11/2"-2" and of course it is all 30's type fabrics.

It means more muted colors. It is someone's new way of saying it.

Anyway...the quilt is beautiful--very relaxing to have around.

Low Volume as in intensity. The colors have less intensity, thus causing a more muted effect.

They seem to have in common soft colors on a light background. But they can just be softer colors, causing a lesser intensity effect.

Not a kit - I shopped and shopped, mostly online. However, I was able to pull a few from my stash.

Modern fabrics are a new(er) trend, I think. Fun!

This is very nice and serene. Color choice is very good for a scrappy quilt, as it blends together.
