This quilt top is 72x72.
I bought fabric for the back that is 108x44.

I would like to add some of that sunflower fabric on the back as well, kind of pieced.

Do I have enought back fabric? I'm sorry, I know this sounds dumb.

are you quilting it yourself?

because if it is going on a frame you need to add 8" to the width and to the length.(4" more on each side) .so the quilter has enough to attach it it to the frame..

and it is certainly not s stupid question at all..

how much of the sunflower fabric do you have left from the front?

This shows you one way to piece the back..she used 3 different fabrics..

I'm not sure how much sunflower I have, it's in pieces.
Thanks for that tutorial. I think I can do what she did by hanging my backing on the design wall and going from there. Thanks!

if you add the 4"/8" you will need 80" both ways.

if you cut the 80 from the 108,that leaves you Approx 28".

your not going to have enough..

But hanging the quilt up and doing it like the blog suggested, is the way i always measure mine..easiest for me.

If you have enough sunflower to do eight inches around you have enough
