My "new quilting" table

I was going to cut into it and customize it around my sewing plate, but then thought, "WHY?" and left it as-is. i did sand the corners down so they don't hang up on the quilt as bad. i was the "engineer and supervisor" and my son was in charge of the drill and my husband in charge of the saw. The table top is a shelf from Home Depot for around $5.50 and the blocks of wood were left over from another project. I did buy some screws for another $1.

I measured and my dh ripped a board to fit then my son drilled thru the shelf to the blocks of wood. I covered it with Peel and Stick for now. I'll probably get some contact paper tomorrow to cover it more permanently. It was fun and I love it!

Very nice. Instead of cutting a space for your machine to go into, why not have one of your 'helpers' cut a board with wooden blocks for legs to go behine the back side of your machine. I was just lloking and thought that up. maybe glue that part to the larger part.

I forgot that I did cut the sharp corners down and sanded them smooth too.

My husband made me a quilting table for my baby lock out of an old end table, he routed out the shape of my machine from the top of the table and add legs to it to make it the right height, and waxed it down so that it would be smooth and slick. It is perfect, I use it all the time. Maybe someone else's hubby is as cleaver as mine. Lori
