I am trying to work down my civil war and thimbleberry scraps.
I am still adding borders, but couldn't wait to post :-)

Oh Wow. That is a gorgeous quilt. What a hige undertaking, at least it would be for me

How beautiful! My personal preference is to quilt in soft curves when the pattern is all straight and linear, but the way the light is shining on your quilt it looks as though it's quilted in the ditch and that looks lovely too.

I have some ideas, but it would first like to know a few things. Will you be hand-quilting or machine-quilting? If on a machine, are you comfortable with free-motion skills or do you prefer to do straight lines only? Do you want an overall design or custom quilting? Knowing these things will help me narrow down my suggestions.

By the way, it's a gorgeous top!!

Beautiful quilt! Thanks sew much for sharing. And thanks for the link. I'm BOM chair at my guild and this would be a great project.

As far as quilting goes, are you machine or hand quilting? If machine quilting, perhaps something with curves - scrolls or feathers but not so tight that it would take away from your beautiful quilt top. If hand quilting, you can't go wrong with the tried & true 1/4 inch outline. Just my thoughts. . . .

Again, beautiful quilt!

thanks for the compliments!
I still have to add a border, that will make the final size 100x100 according to the instructions.
I'm on the fence on the quilting part. I am "getting better" with the fmq on my janome 6600. I'm not sure if I want to hire this out to make it a knock out donation quilt for Animal rescue fundraising .. not sure if my skills are adequate for this.
usually if I tackle a project this size I do some straight line quilting to stabilize the blocks and then fmq the blocks.
