My Niece came to Ky on her spring break. I had bought her a sewing machine last year but it seems no one in her family knows how to sew ..so I had her for a whole week..taught her how to use her sewing machine..went fabric shopping...that was fun..and she made her first rag quilt. I had so much fun with her..( I had boys)....hope she remembers all I taught her and will continue to sew!
she loved making her first quilt! sewing with her sewing machine! Now she knows how! she went around the fabric store and took pictures of all the fabrics! ha |
Looks like your neice had a blast! Sounds like great fun! You'll have to share the photo when her quilt's done!

It is fun to get a young person interested. So many don't even want to try. Your store looks familiar to me! :?: What part of Ky. are you from?
|
You are a best aunt ever.....
She will always remember you with love... What a great gift... |
You can tell by her smile how much fun she had. How great of you to take her under your wing and teach her. Every time she sews she will think of you.
|
That is wonderful!! I'm sure Tori will think of you everytime she uses her quilt and remember her Aunt taught her how to make it.
Very pretty BTW. |
She did an awesome job!
WTG!! WOOHOO!! And was that a Joanne's that you were shopping in? lol |
I love that big grin on her face!!! I just know she is going to remember her special time with her Auntie!!!!! :D :D :D

It looks like your neice is one happy lady, and what a privelege to be able to teach her.
She might become a holiday "regular". |
What great fun! I'm sure she'll treasure her quilt and never forget the time you spent together.
|
What fun is that! She looks like she was having a good time. Did she finish the rag quilt? The only thing she might not like about that process is having to clip all those edgfes.
|
How cute! It looks like she had a wonderful time. Her quilt is beautiful! Quick learner!

mkanderson , I live in Lawrenceburg, Ky. This Joanns is in Frankfort. A 10 minute drive from my house. Thanks for all the comments. Lots of new gals here...I have been so busy at work I haven't been on the board for awhile...good to be back!
I sure hope she remembers how to thread the needle and that bobbin...we had some pretty interesting tries at it at first..I never knew a bobbin could go in that way and get stuck...haa but she learned quickly. It was so much fun! She did finish the quilt..and yes I did have to take my turn clipping those seams. ( and by the way, girls are messy aren't they? remember I had boys..ha |
Catherine-what a terrific aunt you are!! Tori looks like she had a fabulous visit!! I love the quilt she made.
|
How fun! Looks like you all had great fun! and accomplished a beautiful quilt!
