Well some wha against my good judment I am posting pictures of the quilt I am working on.

It has some rough spots and I had hoped it would look better when I got this close to finishing it.

I plan to make decorative stiching over the quilt squares , I hope fully to fully cover up the original stitching because a lot of it looks really bad.

I am making it for a day bed for my daughter and I decided to put a skirt on it

Thanks for the photo. The colors are some of my favorites.
The skirt adds interest. Be sure to post a photo when you finish.

Love the colors and design. Hope to see the finished project.

Blue is my favorite color and the stripes bring out the blue and gray. Good job.

Can't wait to see the finished project with all of the decorative stitches.

I am not sure why you were afraid to post the pic ? Your colors work well together, the pattern is fine, looks good to me

Really neat that you are making it longer on the sides. How old is your daughter ? My sons would need it longer to cover all their "stuff" under the bed  LOL

Looks great and a great idea. Good for you.

I have learned alot of things I did wrong on this one and I think the main one was I did not work in squares I worked in strips from top to bottom.

Oh well it has been a learning experiance and I have learned a lot since I joined the Quilting Board and I want to thank everyone for their encouragement and support.

Now I know where I can go when I have any questions and that will help a lot. I hope I don't become a pest since I really love quilting and would like to be able to turn out some as beautiful as some I have seen on the Quilting Board.

To be honest, the quilt is very attractive. I like the colors alot. I see a couple of misaligned seams, but nothing I haven't encountered on my own quilts. Once it gets all sandwiched and quilted, these minor flaws will seem to disappear.

I love the addition of the skirt to this quilt :D:D:D
I have used decorative stitching too to hide some boo boo's
Never be leery of asking for help or a question, that is what this board is all about, helping and sharing :D:D:D

There's nothing wrong with working in strips. And the quilt looks fine! Every quilt has something to teach (at least all of mine do! :-P ). You're doing fine, and I like your quilt very much!

dkabasketlady 05-29-2010 07:47 PM

I think this is the first time that I've seen a quilt for a daybed, how ingenius!!! I love the colors!! Looking forward to seeing pics when it's finished!

pattral 05-30-2010 10:00 PM

I will be posting it when I get it finished. I should have started with a lap quilt or small blanket first though, this has not been easy. If I had found the Quilting Board before I started it would have been a lot easier.

I have done so many things wrong or there are things I did not do that I should have done. Well they say we live & die by our mistakes. I will not be making the same mistakes twice.

Knot Sew 06-22-2010 08:24 AM

There is no right or wrong with quilts....others show us what has worked for them....but actually any thing is ok......Use what you have the way you want......I love blue also...it came out very nicely....keep sewing and having fun

katsewnsew 06-22-2010 08:33 AM

Wonderful! Wonderful! Keep it up! Show us pix when you are completed. You will learn a lot here as I already have. And trust me, we all have made mistakes, and still do.
