Here are some pictures of my 1968 Singer 404 straight stitch sewing machine inset into an Oak sewing table with an cherry tower cabinet that houses a notions drawer, pull out table surface, and below storage for a Serger. This is one of the best straight stitch machines Singer ever produced. Front load drop in bobbin, slant needle, all gear driven, and parts are cheap and available because a lot of them were made. I believe it was the last straight stitch made before Singer was sold and degenerated into another offshore import firm.
