Sue was feeling a little down today. So to cheer her up I showed her something that I HAD planned to make in secret and surprise her later in the year. So now that she knows, I can show it to you also. I call it "Sue's Purple Passion".

dglvr 02-11-2010 07:53 PM

I love it. The purple and green together is a favorite of mine.
Wanna make 2? Of course the other 1 would be for me.
 Let me know when you want my address.

Quilter7x 02-11-2010 07:56 PM

Yes. The EQ5 is so terrific. I get to put the actual fabrics I plan to use and see what the quilt will look like before I ever start cutting. I love it. I could play on it all day. (of course, if I did that I would never get any sewing done).

PurplePassion 02-11-2010 09:37 PM

Okay I'll let you get a few extra of those EQ's. I've never used 1 before but if they do great stuff like that I'll figure it out.

jewelps 02-12-2010 05:11 AM

love those colors, can't wait to see yours

nana2 02-12-2010 05:42 AM

I noticed the very small black lines. This is just in the pattern??? As I looked at this I was thinking how well the black sets off the whole block.

ginnie6 02-12-2010 05:45 AM

I love purple and green! I have a top that I need to pull out and quilt taht is purple and green...yours is prettier though!

ToucanSam 02-12-2010 05:51 AM

Okay , now I want to do a purple and green because that is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!

The little black lines are from the EQ5 program. When you draw up your block this is what will separate the different pieces so that you can put in the colors/fabrics you want. In the actual quilt that area will just be the seam allowance.

Now let me see, how many people need blocks. I guess I will have to get more than 3 yards of the different fabrics. ;) ;)

ToucanSam 02-12-2010 06:13 AM

Another question (from a newbie)....what is the name of that pattern and what is that gorgeous purple floral fabric?

SO pretty!!!

Marcia 02-12-2010 06:16 AM

Anne--that is really pretty and I hope it cheered Sue up immediately!

Bailey's mom 02-12-2010 06:21 AM

Another question from newbie quilter....Is a EQ5 a machine or a program for the computer? Your fabric choices are beautiful!!! I love them...Add another block???? LOL

The block is called "Crossed Roads" and the instructions can be found in quilterscache. You can print them out and have them for as many quilts as you want to make.

The fabric is from Timeless Treasures. I just looked it up on the site that I plan to get it from, Somewhere Sewing, and it is just called vines. When I was in the site, I just put "purple" and it and several others came up.

It is a program in the computer. My sister gave it too me. You can put in real fabrics and know what the quilt will look like and decide if you like the colors before you ever buy them.

Wow I love the colors just beautiful I bet that made her feel a whole lot better. Oh you could also put me in there for one of those Blocks too along with all the others who would like one. :)

Cheryl 02-12-2010 08:23 AM

I would love to have one of those EQ5 programs where can you get them. I just love that pattern and those fabs that you picked out are just Beautiful.

Cheryl 02-12-2010 08:23 AM

oops! almost had two of the same messages in here. LOL

Boston1954 02-12-2010 08:33 AM

I want to thank all of you for the wonderful comments. I hope no one feels left out if I don't answer everything specifically. There is a thread right now in the non-quilting area about feeling ignored and it got me to thinking about how I respond to answers of my posts. I try to answer questions if someone wants to know the name of the block etc.

I just want everyone to know that I read all your comments and you make me smile. :D

Honey 02-12-2010 08:34 AM

Oh my, how beautiful! I would have never put those colors together, but they are perfect. I get so many ideas from all of you. What is the name of the block? I love it!
