About a week or so ago, Prairie Quilter posted a photo of her 'X marks the spot' quilt and I immediately fell in love .
http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-125378-1.htm So I started one also. Now I have to admit that I love scrap quilts, and my joy is in the piecing and sewing the quilt tops (some people call them 'flimsies' before they are sandwiched and quilted). I have lots of flimsies hanging on my 2nd floor railing, I love them just as they are. Sometimes adding borders, sandwiching and quilting is not fun for me. here is my string x quilt, inspired by Prairie Quilter Scrappy String X quilt |

I just love it! what size are your blocks?
i love scrappy too..it is my favorite! and just like you..i love to cut and piece. never mind the sandwich and quilting part! |
If I am not mistaken this quilt is shown in the Relax and Quilt booklet and goes by the name of Pathways to Piece. One of our members, Nanabirdmo (if I recall) introduced it several years ago. But like many other quilts, people have chosen different names for them. I liked it well enough that I have made 4 of them and given them to charities. I love using those small pieces.

I love making colorful quilts, I call them scrappy even though I cut pieces from yardage. Is that cheating?? :-)
