My take on the C=2012 Craftsy BOM
2 Attachment(s)
Here is my Craftsy BOM quilt. If you participated in this BOM you will notice several of my blocks are different. :o I am slow so in August I decided I better make up the rest of the blocks if I wanted this quilted in time for Christmas. I used the Quilt As You Go method by following instructions on another thread in the forum. Everything about this project was new and challenging. There are several - goofs - but I am very pleased with the finished project. I can only post photos of the work in progress because I wrapped it before I took photos of the finished quilt. I am calling in Trials and Tribulations in Green, Black, White.

oh i just LOVE your modern colors! its fantastic! this is the one that i did~was that class not just GREAT?
i thought that once i finally get it quilted i would take and make prarie points out of all the fabrics and then sew them in place before i apply the binding, so that all the points point 'in' so that there are little flippies all around the edge. i dont know what it will look like but ill keep my fingers crossed! i hope she does another class next year; i learned so much from this one. i think of limes when i look at yours; it looks cool and refreshing. i LOVE it! |
nicely done

I'm so very very bad! I watched the first 3-4 months (notice I said, "watched", not "did"!) and lost interest when she started hand-sewing down the hexies and I really didn't like how those blocks looked anyway! However, being a totally unexperienced block-maker, I think this would be a fantastic way to learn how to make them. I wanted to use up some fabric scraps, so I probably won't be able to make a whole quilt... maybe smaller wall-hangings and/or pillow forms?
Both of you have beautiful quilts! I'm so jealous!! |
Great colors! Very modern!

Congratulations on finishing it in time for Christmas! The recipient will be delighted!

Nice job! I started a BOM earlier this year in green black and white as well. I made the mistake of making the background scrappy black on white and it got uglier with each block. I stopped and found a layout that will work, but lost a little enthusiasm for the project. Glad yours turned out so great and thanks for sharing the photos. Merry Christmas!

Wow that is fabulous. I love your color choices. Guess I should actually get my patterns out and do something with them! Great inspiration!
