My Talk-About Book

8 Attachment(s)
Here's the story (I always have one, you know): When I saw this block http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...t-t182319.html I immediately pictured the blocks in a book. I drew out ideas, and had a feeling it'd be a popular project. The concept is for it to be an educational book--for adults to talk about what's on the pages to an infant in order to promote vocabulary development (yes, I'm a teacher lol). Once older, the children can talk about what they see, and make up stories about the pictures--developing imagination. I created a Talk-About Quilt years ago with the same concept.

That is so fantastic!! I remember when you were working on a book along time ago, it is nice to this book and I know the kids will just love it.

Ahh, those colours are so nice and bright and the pictures seem to leap off the pages.

Your book makes me think of one that my mother made when my kids were babies. All cloth, and each page had something else to do - a zipper, snaps, lacing, etc. The kids loved it and wore it right out.
I hope your books are loved to death, too.

I'm not a grandma yet! But when the times comes, you can bet my grandkids will have at least three of these--all with different pictures. :-) My son and his wife just had a purchase offer accepted on a house--so maybe in a few years.

This is, without a doubt, one of the most clever ideas I have ever seen posted Karla! It is sure to instill a love of books. I can remember as a child some of my favorite books were the "pop up" books. These are sure to excite and delight babies. I think you have a winner.
