What do you think about the border? Is it too busy? Should I do something else?

Only a portion of the quilt and I still need to put blue borders on top and bottom

I thought the blues circles in the border should be more numerous and the oranges smaller

The Orange would be binding

I believe a solid would frame it out better. One of the colors in the dots.

Love your dots! And the border. The colors are cool too. Such a neat quilt! Your quilt inspector is a cutie too!

I love the dot border! Maybe spread them out a little further apart? :D:D:D

erstan947 10-08-2010 04:28 PM

I like your plan also. It gives a modern upbeat look to the quilt.

Gramyx7 10-08-2010 04:29 PM

I like what you have done, Keep it just like that.. Its very pretty and very unique...

I second the suggestions above. I like the idea of the border of blue dots and I agree that they need to be a little further apart, but it would be okay to leave them as is. It would look more finished to add another blue border, maybe a little wider than the one dividing the body of the quilt and the border of dots. It looks very up-to-date and I should think it would appeal to the younger generation.

I like the way you've done the dots smaller and closer together in the border. It creates a really nice look.

Do you have enough of the blue to do a second blue border before the orange binding? It is not really necessary, but I think it would look nice.

I love it just as it is.
My DGD has the brother to your quilt inspector.

I love this idea! This is going to be a great quilt. Keep up the good job!

Kristen, you're putting together a wonderful quilt - the border with the smaller dots really finish it off! You've got great instincts - this is a very stylish and happy quilt!

Very Nice. I love what you have going on and would suggest adding another blue border the same width as the one in the photo right after the smaller circles before the binding goes on. Cute dog!!

MinnieKat 10-08-2010 08:02 PM

I like it the way you have it displayed.

It looks nice just as it is, but you could add another border to it.

I agree about the blue border. It will set it off better. Audition the colors and see which one will pop out at you.

I like the smaller dots in the border - gives continuity to the pattern of the larger dots. It's going to be super when it is finished.

And the quilt inspector is cute too!

SueDor 10-09-2010 05:02 AM

Very nice!

LoisN 10-09-2010 05:37 AM

I love it the way you have designed it. It's great.

kristen0112 10-09-2010 08:23 AM

Thank you everyone for you suggestions. My DD saw the border and added that she thought the border circles should be smaller than they are.
SO, I am going to make them a bit smaller, space them out a little farther, and use more blue than orange. And I like the add another blue border.

Ditter43 10-09-2010 08:40 AM

I love the polka dot border!! The small blue border looks good too! :D

Iluv2quilt 10-09-2010 09:45 AM

I really like the border. I think it fits in perfectly with your quilt and orange is a great choice for the binding. Love your puppy as well.

Matilda 10-09-2010 06:22 PM

I really like your colors. The blue inner border is very pretty with the outer border. You did a very nice job. Did you turn under the edges of the circles or are they raw edged?

CarrieAnne 10-09-2010 06:24 PM

Pretty quilt and pretty dog!

The circles on the main part of the quilt are pieced together. I have not attached the ones on the border yet. I think I am going to sew fusible interfacing on them and then turn them and iron them on so it has the appearance of being appliqued without the work then I will quilt them on.
