Using a 6" finished block size gives you about a 60" square quilt. (cut assorted colored & white large squares @ 6 1/2", cut 9-patch squares @ 2 1/2", cut 2 squares @ 5 1/8" & cut in half diagonally for the 4 corners, cut 6 squares @ 9 3/4" & cut in quarters diagonally for the setting side triangles) forgot to add: if doing striped fabric for the setting triangles, pay attention to the orientation of the strip when you cut them. You want to cut half each way. |

I'm not sure what the pattern is, but it would be pretty easy to duplicate. It's a bunch of plain squares with a some 9-patch blocks, all on point.

42 - 4-1/2" white squares
16 - 4-1/2" color squares 20 - 4-1/2" 9patch blocks (use 2" strips to make strip sets) 3 - 4" x WOF strips of striped fabric cut into 45degree triangles (9 per WOF) Should give you a 42" to 45" square quilt. |
I agree, that's a really pretty quilt and with all the helpful replies you'll be able to conquer it quickly.
