I would love to make this quilt for my expected granddaughter due to arrive in May. Can anyone tell me what the name of this quilt pattern is? I would greatly appreciate your help.

Thanks!

I'm not sure what the pattern is, but it would be pretty easy to duplicate. It's a bunch of plain squares with a some 9-patch blocks, all on point.

16 assorted colored squares, 20 9-patches, 49 white squares, 4 striped corner triangles, 24 striped side triangles

Using a 6" finished block size gives you about a 60" square quilt. (cut assorted colored & white large squares @ 6 1/2", cut 9-patch squares @ 2 1/2", cut 2 squares @ 5 1/8" & cut in half diagonally for the 4 corners, cut 6 squares @ 9 3/4" & cut in quarters diagonally for the setting side triangles)

forgot to add: if doing striped fabric for the setting triangles, pay attention to the orientation of the strip when you cut them. You want to cut half each way.

Sorry, I don't know the name but I think it's really cute. Peggy

EasyPeezy 01-20-2012 07:52 PM

The 9-patch blocks could be strip pieced. A lot easier than cutting all those squares. http://quilting.about.com/od/blockof...y_quilts_2.htm

GingerK 01-20-2012 07:58 PM

It is really a very simple pattern that uses colours to make it interesting--especially the stripe. I think you could graph it out quite easily. The only hard part would be deciding on the size of the block, because you would be setting them on point and would have to consider the DIAGONAL size instead of the width.

Very pretty.

RkayD 01-20-2012 08:43 PM

clotilde has that pattern

cindy4857 01-20-2012 09:53 PM

looks like a jewel box pattern to me or close to it. Any how its a beautiful quilt and I'm sure yours well be equally as beautiful.

This is a cute pattern. I made it for a baby boy. It is set on-point.I winged the pattern rather than buy it.
I thought it was fairly easy to make.
Here's a link to mine.

That is a Clotilde pattern $ 7.98, called diamond patch. I have that on my bucket list to make. Won't need a pattern. It is simple to look at and make you blocks and 9 patches. Yours is so cute and bright. I also like yours Ranger. I love the bright colors. This pattern would be pretty in any color combonation.

I do not know the name of the quilt, but it sure is pretty. I, too, think you could do it without a pattern. Go for it.

isabel825 01-21-2012 01:43 PM

Thanks for all of your expertise! I'm a novice and not able to create a pattern on my own. The Clotilde pattern is exactly it. I knew where to go to find the answer! Quilting Board members, you are all awesome, and so willing to share your knowledge of quilting!

isabel825 01-21-2012 01:49 PM

Thanks for responding... I love all these explicit instructions!

noahscats7 01-21-2012 03:34 PM

That's really pretty and the striped material sets it off. qbquilts I love your breakdown of it. glenda

Dolphyngyrl 01-21-2012 08:13 PM

I just see a diagonal set 9 patch you shouldn't need a patter just a decision on what size squares to make

wvhill22 01-22-2012 03:59 AM

I love your color choice and pattern. Beautiful job.

catmcclure 01-22-2012 12:46 PM

42 - 4-1/2" white squares
16 - 4-1/2" color squares
20 - 4-1/2" 9patch blocks (use 2" strips to make strip sets)
3 - 4" x WOF strips of striped fabric cut into 45degree triangles (9 per WOF)

Should give you a 42" to 45" square quilt.

Charleen DiSante 01-22-2012 01:13 PM

I agree, that's a really pretty quilt and with all the helpful replies you'll be able to conquer it quickly.

It's very similar to a pattern I saw on allpeoplequilt. It's a free download. http://www.allpeoplequilt.com/techni...terns_ss5.html

Darlene516 01-23-2012 03:32 PM

The pattern is from Clotilde's catalog. I've made 2, a small one for a baby girl and a twin sized one for a friend's family room. It is easy to make and looks great with any combination of fabrics.

isabel825 01-23-2012 06:10 PM

Thank you for all the responses to my request for the pattern. I am amazed at how quickly everyone offered to help, and even sent me written instructions on how to proceed! Your generosity is greatly appreciated!
