I love this quilt top i made. Love it so much I'm keeping it for myself.( most I give away)
Here's my problem How should it be quilted. Did I mess up by adding the flowers and buttons before quilting it? Its not real big and was hoping to send it to someone to quilt when I saved enough $$ since my quilting sucks. LOL!! |

My advice isn't worth much but I give it anyway. LOL I don't know how I would quilt the blocks but the flowers are fine. Charisma quilted one for me that I had appliqued flowers around 2 corners like you did. I didn't have as many flowers and they were a little bit larger than yours but she outlined them and quilted in the border around them and it was beautiful. She does such good work and know exactly how to quilt each pattern. I love her work.

A good longarmer could do this but will have to pay attention and stay away from the embellishments. If you want to do it yourself you could stitch straight lines.

A good machine quilter can do gorgeous work around your applique' work and teh buttons... I did a cute quilt for my great nephew and put a prairie point edging between the appliqued little blocks of animals and the border and she did beautiful work quilting it - never touched the prairie points and yet got the border quilted too - very nice.. so it can be done if you hire a good quilter to do it for you.

Great looking quilt. Lovely colors.

Definitely needs quilting

It's beautiful, ask Charisma she can do anything

What a great job. No help on quilting. But I agree this is one you should keep your self.

Not sure how it should be quilted, but it sure is pretty!

Very nice :)

Love your quilt and the embellishments! You can go simple or fancy in your quilting. From meandering to swirls, loops and/or feathers! Good Luck and please post this beauty when quilted!

Here's my 2 cents worth... I probably would have a LA quilt vines &/or flowers all over it... not necessarily a panto but just meandering around. I don't blame you for keeping it. I've reached that place myself. I used to make all mine to give away & then I realized I was like the shoemaker's children... LOL! So now I give some away but make some for me, too. Please post this little gem again after you get it done, OK?

Its beautiful!

as a longarmer, I would say take the flowers and buttons off before sending it to a longarmer. Yes, they can quilt around, but most will charge extra to do this. You can add them back after quilting. If you are going to quilt it, you can go around the flowers yourself. As on how to quilt it?? many ways come to mind, something with curves to calm all of the straight lines. Maybe a feathered vine in the center. in the boarder echo the vine and shadow it in the oppisite corners.

Please show us when you've got it quilted! It very pretty! :)

I would so like to quilt it myself so I could say I did it all. BUT>>>Haven't mastered quilting. Just have done quilting in the ditch. maybe will just do that. Really have to see what it would cost to have it quilted first. That will really make me make up my mind LOL!!

Not sure how to quilt it but I do love your addition of flowers it just adds a nice touch. I'm sure someone who has more experience than myself could help you. Sue
