Ok kids. I can't remember where this pic came from. Maybe it was posted here.?? Anyway I thought it would be perfect for hubby in flannels, so saved the pic. Ok now where can I find a fishy like the one in pic? Anyone know what pattern is used?

I don't know for sure but it looks like a Billie Lauer 'Guess who's on my quilt'.

Bev, maybe find a pic in a coloring book and then applique it on the quilt

I think that one is from a pillow pattern. Can't remember the name of the company though.

Hey Bevanger, does it have to be same fish or close in style? Cuz I could draw you one and then you can take to kinko's or some where they could blow it up for you....I would be more then happy to draw it and I can email it to you, I have a scanner.

I use clip art a lot for applique, find an image of what i'm looking for, enlarge it and print it out. When I did my son's wall hangings of the NHL hockey teams, I found pictures of the team emblems to use. Those I had to request permission to use them, what a rigamarole trying to make them understand what I was putting them on....guess they don't get many people using team emblems on a quilt! LOL

In the end they said as long as I was not selling the wallhangings, I could reproduce the emblems. :) His wall hanging of Michael Jordan's shoe, I got permission and they sent my son an autographed picture of Michael for him. :)

I'm thinking the same thing. Thinking the squares are 12" (?).
Could be easy to make.

If each block is 12":

For the 16-Patch Checkerboard, each square in the block is 3" finished. If you want to strip piece, cut your strips at 3.5". Or if you're going scrappy, cut each little square at 3.5" square.

For the 4-Patch, each square is 6" finished, so cut your strips at 6.5"...or each square at 6.5" square.

Hope that helps!

I would bet that the blocks are 6". With 12" blocks the fish would be 30"! That's one big fish. If its 6", the fish would be about 15".
