Forgive the colors, but this is just for illustrative purposes only. I really love this pattern, and I know just by looking at it, it is pretty cut and dry. However, for reference, I need to know the name of the pattern. I have seen it in several magazines, but it only refers to the name of the article and not the name of the block. Thanks in advance. :)

It looks like a two-rail fence, if there is such a pattern. But it looks like a "split rail fence" pattern. In a split rail fence the sashing between the blocks is the same size as one of the 'rails', as is the first border around. Hope that made sense.

A rail fence would have a continuous stair step effect across the quilt.

It looks so simple maybe it doesn't have a name. Just stacked rectangles with sashing.
