I was at a friends house recently and she had all her fabric boxes on their side. I thought it was a great idea. I came home and changed my shelves. The pictures shows the "old way" on the top shelf and the other shelves are the new way. It is so much easier to get to a specific box when they are not stacked on top of one another!
Thought this might spark someone else to look at their storage shelves in a new way! |
interesting idea

My storage bins are the real big rubbermaids and sit on the floor. Stacked 3 high. I get stronger lifting them up and down. I rolled some of my fabrics and that makes more room and easier to see than laid in there flat.

hmmmmm...good idea but wouldn't you get more storage by stacking on top of each other? My shelves hold 3 shoe box size high...I can get 12 across on the shelf....my shoe box shelf is for fabric I am collecting for a certain quilts....cat quilt, flower quilt, bug jar quilt..etc
Another shelf is for printed fabric and the stacks are labeled...kids, flowers, nascar, etc. All my solid fabric are in rubbermaid storage drawers according to color. Not sure any of this was helpful. I do have pics if anyone is interested...hmmm coffee must have kicked in..lol dee |
