This New National #2980187 machine I've had for a while. I oiled it a little and the crank turned really smooth. The shuttle looks like new with only one bobbin-skinny funny looking. It's HEAVY! It has Light Running Trade Mark with a greyhound symbol. Also No. 4477 Mayo 18 1904. It is hinged in back to open to simple workings.

Are you going to be using it? I don't think I'm coordinated enough to use a hand crank :D It's a beautiful machine though!

I think I may. The crank turns so easily that you may have more control than one might think. It would be fun to piece a quilt with it just to say I did!

I saw a beautiful hand crank today on Ebay. The condition was excellent.

My husband converted one of my old machines to a hand crank for my daughter when she was young, wanted to sew, but was afraid of the machine. She's a leftie, so the hand crank was perfect for her! She made me promise never to sell that machine, even though she's not into sewing (20yo and interested in makeup!).

  I can barely walk and chew gum at the same time! I'm not sure I could manage a hand crank machine! It sure is a beauty, though!!
