I've been struggling with getting this together- ran out of certian fabric & had to find a replacement 2 or 3 times- i have 2 large boxes full of nautical/lighthouse/sailing related fabrics & none of the blues were right with what i started with---that's what i get for just jumping in with a fabric i wanted to use up- then finding i have nothing to go with it---it was a challenge but i finally managed to get it to the queen size i needed- and it doesn't look so bad on the bed- i still now have to figure out a backing & get it quilted & bound- but at least the hard part is done

Doesn't look so bad on the bed??? I'll say not! It looks beautiful. Congratulations on coming up with a very attractive layout for your nautical prints.

QuiltnNan 09-15-2012 11:14 AM

i don't know why i had so much trouble with this one- well i do know why- the teal blue fabrics not going with all the sky blues i have in my stash-but i managed- now i really need to get busy & productive- get a couple more put together...i also need to figure out backing for this one...i need a new serge protector before i can plug the long-arm back in- so ---gosh maybe i need to make a list....

What l see goes well together

Helen S 09-15-2012 03:22 PM

Love the lighthouse panel in the center, and water never has one color of blue, so I'd say it works fine!

debcavan 09-15-2012 04:09 PM

Wow, it looks good. It may not be what you planned, but it turned out so well.

Robin57 09-15-2012 04:24 PM

boy, i know how that goes! i have been (fondling) my nautical fabrics for a long time- sometimes i feel guilty for not using them- finally decided i really need to start making with them---this is the first-- i am glad it came together - but i have to admit- it was really difficult to start cutting into those fabrics! :D

oh- and Scraps....the colors are just really starting to change nicely- should be quite beautiful by the time you get up here! :)

heather1949 09-16-2012 02:36 AM

I love the use of the different blues. Each blue picks us something in different pieces. It's a beautiful quilt top.

ItsJustMe 09-17-2012 05:46 AM

Beautiful! Design and fabrics are just perfect!

Judyqnb 09-17-2012 05:48 AM

I just love it - Great Great Job!

FLQ 09-17-2012 07:26 AM

That is a beautiful example of how to use a large pictorial fabric and large motif prints. I think it came out as a terrific large quilt. I hope you'll post a final photo when it is quilted.

wolph33 09-17-2012 07:28 AM

nannyrick 09-17-2012 07:30 AM

Wow, I like the unique fabrics & the beautiful quilt you made.

stichinluvr 09-17-2012 09:45 AM

I have some of the blue nautical. I need to do something with it. My ex-sil was in the Navy so I'm sure my DGS would like something with ships and lighthouses. If not, his mom would. Thanks for sharing.

Blinkokr 09-17-2012 10:16 AM

Looks great and thank you for sharing
Have a Blessed day
Ellen

Jingle 09-17-2012 05:37 PM

Beautiful, wonderful job with all the blues. It is hard to believe there are so many different shades of pinks, blues, browns, greens, really all colors and that makes some very hard to match up.

csharp 09-17-2012 05:43 PM

Nice, Nice, Nice, I need to do something like this for one of my sons. You have inspired me.

sailsablazin 09-17-2012 07:28 PM

Being a sailor, I absolutely love what you did with these nautical fabrics.

mjhaess 09-18-2012 06:31 AM
