I have been playing with the scraps from the old moose quilt:

Here are some my samples:

Any ideas or other combinations are welcome. I have to use the moose block.

1. totally scrappy:

I love the scrappy personally. But, I think the moose blocks show up better with the green chain blocks. Either way, I like your quilt. It's earthy. And I have a few guys in my life that would really like that it is masculine.

I like them all! It depends on what look you want. #1 features a scrappy look, # 2 features the chain and # 3 features the fussy cuts.:)

It looks like a "9-patch Pizzazz" by Judy Sisneros or very similar - check her book out - I have made about 3 of these types of quilts - it is great for showing off fabric motiff - If you thought of this yourself then you should write a pattern for it. It is lovely.

All are nice, but I prefer #3. Can't wait to see it finished :thumbup:

I think all 3 are very nice but I would vote for #3. It shows off your moose blocks. Beautiful.

I think I like the all over scrappy (1)...the others are lovely, but...that is my choice.

I'm voting for number 1, but as you can tell, it's each man/woman to his own taste. It's wonderful any way you choose.

I like all three of them.
To me the deciding factor is how prominent you want the moose fabric to be. It is most visible in the green one, less so in the other chain one and least obvious in the first one.

They are all great, but the green one (# 3) really caught my eye!

I have that book and yes it does have a similar feel to it. I guess I was so close to it I didn't notice. Thanks for the eye opener.

I like the one with the green and black, the last pictue.

I like the first...the med and light fabric show off the moose and do not detract. IMHO You will have to choose. Usually your first thoughts are best...

you know the scrappy makes it look like the moose are coming out of the woods. all sort of blends to the eye, but they are all good.

I also like the first one. I guess "framing" the moose blocks would throw the measurements out of whack.

All three are nice but I really like #1. Please post again when you have the top finished. Going to be a great quilt.

The moose is loose in 1, can hardly find him, in 2 he is present, in 3 he is obvious. I like 1 but of course I'm not looking for the moose, I can see why 3 would be the answer - he is right in your face.

My vote is for #1 but all are nice.

I like # 1 as I am a scrappy quilter. Hugs PS I know that any one would work at my house..

They are all nice...guess it depends on the look you want.
Favorite for me is all over scrappy(#1) followed by #3 & then #2

They all look great but I think #3 is my choice. It just all goes together.

Very hard to choose. I like #1 and #3 but can't decide between those two.

My choice is #3 too.....the moose blocks really stand out in this one....the first 2 are too distracting to me. I love it!!

I agree with this totally. The scrappy calls me, but the moose really stand out with the green. If showcasing the moose is the goal, go with the green.

I like them all...but think the scrappy is my favorite.

I, too, like #3 best even though all three are nice. If you made it like #3, you could use the other colors for a border.

I lean toward the two color chain. Is it going to be a masculine quilt? (for a guy)

I like #3 best because the green brings to mind a deep forest for the moose then #2 and last #1. I like them all but three is peaceful for the moose!:rolleyes:

I think in order to show your moose at their best lol you should go with #3. Good luck - Im sure it will turn out wonderful no matter what you go with.

I like the scrappy, #1, because it is like an optical illusion trying to figure out how you made the blocks.

I like the totally scrappy look myself.
