wonnie: I used cottons from my scrap bag. Just paired coordinating scraps. The instructions say you can use almost any fabric including upholstery, denim, canvas, corduroy, drapery, etc.

I got the zippers on sale for about a buck apeice.

I saw a similar pattern online which would give insight on how to sew the zipper in.
