this quilt took forever to come together. I totally fell in love with the plaid and started with that, I must have looked for fabric in every quilt shop from here to timbucktoo. Then i did about 7 blocks before deciding on the final. In the end I am very satisfied with the outcome but regretting that I didn't make it bigger.

pretty, pretty!

Very nice! I can understand why you fell in love with the plaid. The colors and scale are great, and you've done a great job coordinating everything. I would guess you're drawn to plaids based on the pants I see at the bottom of the pic!

Just improve on this one to make a bigger one....
I always think the next quilt will be more beautiful, better, etc...but I do love them all.
I like this one, can't wait for the next one.

I love it! I'm thinking of browns and plaids for our winter quilt...whenever i get around to it!

Esqmommy 09-02-2009 05:13 AM

Nice quilt and your fabrics are soooo great. It reminds me a bit of a "man quilt" in that you could easily give that as a gift to a man...yet it's still really pretty!

you know I was thinking the same thing, some of the blocks that didn't make it in are very feminine, on the lighter side. I was trying to do a light version and a dark to use in the same quilt but it just wasn't working. I think I am going to do the exact same quilt but in the lighter version and call them his and hers! They are meant to go in the family room, he can have one and so can I.

Deb watkins 09-02-2009 05:52 AM

Very, very pretty. Just right for the upcoming season! You did a great job on it.

Harmony 09-02-2009 05:54 AM

You were dead on with the plaid--it's awesome, and makes for a really different quilt! And I love the little plaid legs sticking out from the bottom of the quilt. Plaid must be your thing! Great work!

RedGarnet222 09-02-2009 06:57 AM

Gorgeous quilt. I am a longarmer. Was wondering if you need it quilted. I have been longarming since 1993 and very reasonable with my pricing. Check me out. email me at [email protected]. Thanks, Joyce

You could always add another border, the red would look good.

Great quilt, love the plaid.

Barbm 09-05-2009 01:31 PM

very nice! I love the plaid. But, I'm wondering- why don't my quilts grow legs and feet? They just lay on the couch for a picture. :)
