It was a quilt in 3 days. Just finished it last night. For a quickie quilt, I really like it. Guess I don't have the patience for long projects. This pattern is called BQ2 and it's made/designed by mapleislandquilts.com. The BQ stands for BIG QUILT.

Really, really pretty! Good job!

maggiebooboo 04-29-2008 07:34 AM

That is a beauty! I love the quilting. Do you have a statler? Or do you use the long paper patterns?

Very nice.

GMarie 04-29-2008 07:47 AM

I love it! Especially the quilting. Do you stencel and quilt?

Lisa 04-29-2008 08:27 AM

Very nice! Love your quilting pattern. I think I might even have it! I have some of the pre-printed stecils that you pin to your quilt and follow the lines, then tear the paper off. It works really well and my grandson loves to sit with me and tear all the paper off.

sondray 04-29-2008 09:01 AM

Very pretty, can't believe it only took 3 days. Great job!

Harmony 04-29-2008 09:03 AM

Beautiful quilt! I suspect that most of the 3 days was spent in the quilting! Nice job!

bj 04-29-2008 09:09 AM

I love the quilt! Not too sure where some of those "quilt in a days" are made...someplace with way longer days than I seem to have! I did an E.Burns Trip Around the World - in a day (times 3) and I didn't even have to do the quilting or binding. It takes me a day just to bind one. Did you make up your own quilting design? It is very nicely done.

Izy 04-29-2008 09:23 AM

Oh Jackiemoe that is absolutely fabulous, you have done SUCH a great job on the quilting too!! YOU have GOT to be really PLEASED with yourself :D

An almighty big round of applause goes to YOU!!!!!

jacquemoe 04-29-2008 11:46 AM

Thank you ALL so much for the compliments. I think I wanted to show some of you that you can make a pretty decent quilt without a long drawn out process (I'm impatient). I can't sew like Shadow Dancer does, so quickly and beautifully. The quicker the better for me :?

I did use a pantograph and I have a Gammill. That was the easy part.

Dawn Hendrix 04-29-2008 11:48 AM

Your quilting is just GORGOUS.. Told you you would get better and better!

Great Work Jackie!

ccbear66 04-29-2008 11:54 AM

Another great quilt. You're doing so good with the piecing and the quilting. Keep it up girlfriend.

What exactly is a pantograph? Is it made of paper or hard plastic?

amma 04-29-2008 11:58 AM

Jackie!!! Wayyyy cool!!! I really love it!! I'm impressed it was a 3 day quilt...would have taken me a tad longer I'm afraid LOL maybe 3 weeks, months maybe. Your quilting skills are really rockin girlfriend!! I think you should do some more :D

rein 04-30-2008 11:43 AM

First off, nicely done Jackie. I know the quilt in three days is an achievement. And yours came out much better'n mine.

A pantograph is a simple machine made of four 'sticks'. The four sticks are assembled at the ends so the whole thing is a movable parallelogram. You put a a stylus on one corner, anchor another corner to something solid, and a third corner drives another pencil, marker or in this case, a quilting machine.
Place a pattern you want to quilt under the stylus, thread the machine and simply trace the pattern with the stylus. The machine follows along, quilting the pattern on the paper.

Absolutely beautiful!!! You did a lovely job with the top and the quilting is absolutely gorgeous!!

Take a bow.

jacquemoe 05-03-2008 06:18 PM

Close :-)
I have a lazar light to follow the pantograph on a long sheet of papter but I have to use eye/hand coordination, too. It's still easier than piecing a quilt top and a lot faster. I just pretend I'm driving and trying to stay on the road. It's fun!

Oh my word, that's beautiful! ! !
I just love the colors and style.
Now that's a good pattern if you have a large print fabric you love! ! the quilting is so nice too. A perfect combination that complements each other.
Thanks for sharing.
