Sorry if this posts twice - I don't think it went thru the 1st time.
Anyway...my daughter and sil are expecting their 1st baby (my 1st grandbaby). they picked black gold and cream for the rooms colors. I took them out and they picked out all the fabrics for me to decorate the room (from crib ensemble to curtains). I will post pix of the room when it is finished. They didn't want any traditional colors, alpahbets or baby animals...whaaat? Anyway, here's the quilt - I snuck in a couple baby animals. They loved it - me too! It's super soft because of the furry faces and the back is minkee. Ugh- made with home dec fabric! truly non-traditional, but very classy with a bit of whimsey. love it!

That's just adorable !!!
|
That is adorable. Will it be washable with home dec fabrics? Did you design your own pattern?
|
Precious Precious!!

That is just too cute. Great job.

Love the quilt!!! Great job! It looks soft and sunggly!

Too cute! What a great mother/mother-in-law/grandma you are for not sticking your nose up at their choices, for supporting them all the way. I imagine it wasn't easy! :D

OMG!! I so love this quilt. I love the animal prints you used for the cat and one bear, it is totally different and I just think it is great! Was it difficult working with some of those home dec fabrics? I know they can be much heavier then traditional quilting cottons, like denim. Oh yes, love the touch of the print you used for leopard kitten's PJs! Too darn cute.

Very cute quilt. The little one will love it!!
|
Oh yes. I held my breath and washed all the fabrics before I started, so it should withstand many more washings!
|
The home dec fabrics were a bear to work with (pardon the pun!). They were thick and frayed horribly. The minkee got bits of fuzz everywhere too. My long arm (a Tin Lizzie) powered throught the thick seams like a champ though!

This is fantastic! Exquisitely different!!

Very cute, I like how the top of the quilt tucking in the animals is curved.

Awesome! I'll bet it becomes a favorite "lovey"

That must have been a tough one! But you pulled it off beautifully. Your quilt is really cute!

So cute!

That is the cutest quilt I have ever seen!! How adorable, great creativity!

When you mentioned black I was like Oh! no. Don't like black on babies, but your quilt is adorable and I guess the gold quietens the black. If the rest of the room is like this it will be very well done. Bet you are excited about becoming a grand. It's the most extraordinary feeling. Different from when your own are born. Congratulations!!
