So I decided to use a wine theme FQ to make a walllhanging to go above my fridge in the kitchen. I thought because of the colors in the FQ, a country theme would be nice, and it'd be nice in my kitchen. I used M'Liss Rae Hawley's pattern "Windows" from this book http://www.amazon.com/Phenomenal-Fat...d_bxgy_b_img_b
But I am not sure I like the end product, I like the pattern a lot, but I think the colors are just too mute for my taste. Well, my husband declared it nice and hung where I had planned. Oh well, it'll be there until I make something I like better

Oh, BTW, I just realized after it was hung, that I have my grape vines upside down  The quilt measures about 25'' square.

the colors all go together tho they are a bit muted for my tastes also...

but it is pretty...and the quilting is great

i wouldnt even have noticed the grapes where upside down if you hadnt said anything lol

hubby must really like it if he has it hung already...check that off the honey-do list lol

The colors are pretty. But the nice thing about a quilt is that it can be replaced later when another idea strikes

Very pretty!

I think it is very pretty!

I think it is very attractive. Sometimes when I first finish a quilt I'm so tired of working on it that I don't like it. Let a little time pass, and you will probably start to love it again.

Well done on finishing a project and getting it hung.
I understand what you mean about the colours (but then again, I never use country colours at all). I still think you should be proud of your work. Maybe you could do four seasons of quilt for that spot- (it would probably suit autumn better than spring?)

Pretend the grape vines have been cut and are laid on the table -- then it doesn't matter which way the grapes face!

bamamama 04-02-2011 07:41 PM

Well I like it!

GGinMcKinney 04-02-2011 07:43 PM

Really cute!

LeslieFrost 04-02-2011 07:43 PM

I like it! Love the colors, actually. I don't think you should tell anyone about the vines -- just wait and see if anybody notices. At least the bottles are right side up!

Moonglow 04-02-2011 07:43 PM

Looks great.

Once upon a time, I put up a gorgeous wallpaper in our 'office'. It was light colored, gray/green/white lattice with flowers/vines. I put it on the wall upside down. My darling daughter pointed it out to me AFTER I was done. The wall paper stayed up for a loooonnnng time.

I like the wall hanging, but, like you, would probably like it more if it were brighter.

I like the pattern and your selection of colors.

Thank you all for the positive remarks. Now that it is up there, it isn't so bad, just still not my style. But hey, an excuse to buy more fabric, patterns, etc...
