This was made to coordinate with the king size Nutcracker Parade quilt (which is presently in storage). It is hand quilted with free form trees and stars. Just need to add the binding. Thanks for looking ... Happy Holidays!

I have a yard of the print norder fabric that I bought 2 years ago. My son loves nutcrackers! I never saw any of the other fabrics, just love the quilt! Would love to do one as a throw for him for a Christmas gift- obviously not this year-LOL! Nice job!

I simply LOVE this one. I collect Nutcrackers and as of now I have about 53 or so. The smallest one is about 1 inch, and George, the biggest, is almost as tall as I and probably weighs in at about a hundred pounds, all solid wood. He is gorgeous!!
I intend to make a lap robe like yours some day..right after I finish the 40 or so that I have in mind to start soon. Real soon. Maybe.

Is that fabric still available? And please don't tell me that it is all applique, that would drive me crazy to do all that delicate work when there's so much else to be done.

I found the main fabric (panel, luckily not applique) several years ago, but if you google "Nutcracker Suite" you will find it in several locations. It was made by Northcott. When I made the quilt I found fabrics at several different places, so it was kind of a search over several years.

Enjoy ... Happy Holidays!

My son collects nutcrackers as well! He started when he was 6 and went to see the ballet with my mother and I. He has no desire to see the ballet anymore - he is 13 now and it's just not cool. But he has a great collection - some little that hang on the tree and his biggest one is about 3 feet tall. I can't recall the name of the company but it makes VERY expensive nutcrackers. they make a BoyScout one that is about $400 - I plan on getting that for him when he makes eaglescout in a few years along with a quilt from all the Robert Kaufman scouting fabrics I have stashed away in my sewing room.

Great quilt! I introduced my 3 year old granddaughter to nutcrackers this year. We had looked at a bunch of wooden ones in this one store and as we were leaving, there was a big inflated nutcracker. She said to me: "Grams -look - there is a cracked nut!"
