so some of you might remember my post a while back about making quilts from my brother's shirts who passed away 3 yrs ago. I am making one for myself, my mother and sister. Well the first one is done and this one is my mother's. It's very basic and simple as I'm not very good at quilting and I have zero time. My mom insisted I do this start to finish so I couldn't send it out to be quilted which made me sad, but it meant something to her for me to finish it, so I did my best. Here is hers, I'm excited to give it to her for Mother's day. We miss my brother dearly.

Beautiful quilt. It will mean the world to her.

It turned out lovely and is a wonderful tribute to your brother's memory.

Rymer that is beautiful and looks like you did a wonderful job with the quilting. It will have that much more meaning for your mom - I think you should stop saying you aren't good at quilting - really - it is such a nice job.

I love the basic pattern you have chosen; letting the fabrics tell his story. A wonder tribute to him.

I agree with everyone. I think you did a great job. I am making a quilt now that part of the fabric belonged to my mom who also passed away. Your quilt will mean so much to your mom.

Thank you all! I am very proud of it (wish my machine hadn't acted up so much so I could have done a better job w/ the quilting) but I think it was just too thick. but other than that I am pleased with it & my mom will be as well. I am lucky to have had enough fabric to make 3 of them with. They are bigger than a lap size but definitely not a twin. perfect to cuddle and cover up with. :) I will begin my sister's next.

well thank you! I still haven't had a chance to mess w/ my machine to see what was the problem w/ the quilting, I'm thinking this was just too thick. but we'll see what happens when I begin my sister's! wish me luck!

What a beautiful treasure for your Mom, sister and yourself! It's nice that you have enough shirts to make quilts for each of you!
Nice job!
