this one will go into the mail as soon as i get some more of the correct size box from the PO. i'm sending it to my niece so she and her hubby can cuddle under it on their sofa.

it's ok for wedding presents to arrive a year and 4 months late, right? :?

Roben 02-22-2009 07:02 AM

Awesome, Patrice - just awesome! Can I be like you when I grow up?

quilter1962 02-22-2009 07:04 AM

Patrice

It's a georgous quilt - but I thought this one was coming out to me LOL.
One day I am hoping to be able to make such an heirloom. Thanks for sharing.

Tisha :D

patricej 02-22-2009 07:08 AM

you should probably wait until I grow up ... just in case you want to change your mind about that.

Roben 02-22-2009 07:14 AM

Me thinks I'll take my chances - I seem to like living dangerously at the moment...

key4unc 02-22-2009 07:15 AM

It's okay to be late with a wedding present when it's as gorgeous as this. I'm sure they'll love it.

Blue Bell 02-22-2009 07:17 AM

Beautiful, Patrice. Great job on those half square triangles.
I always say, better late than never. They will cherish this quilt forever.

Bevanger 02-22-2009 07:22 AM

ooooooo pretty.... they are gonna love it TONS

ButtercreamCakeArtist 02-22-2009 07:23 AM

Hey there, Patrice! That's purty! yeah, it's OK for a wedding present to be given that "late" because....uh...they had a lot of gifts at the time of the wedding??? This way they get something a little later on, too....kinda like an Anniversary present. :D You do beautiful work!! ;)
ahem...DH and I have an anniversary in July... ;)

pocoellie 02-22-2009 07:25 AM

Great job as usual!! I'm sure they'll love it even if it is late.

Barbm 02-22-2009 07:38 AM

I think they will love it- no matter how late. You could say it's an early silver anniversary gift. Give them a goal to work for....

barnbum 02-22-2009 07:48 AM

Wow--gorgeous--stunning. You are one to take on a challenge! :D I'd avoid all those little pieces. You are to be admired.

Hmm--as long as they're still cuddling after all those months... it should be good.

sewjoyce 02-22-2009 07:50 AM

Wow Patrice, that's simply gorgeous!!

Harmony 02-22-2009 08:00 AM

I think it's OK to be late with a wedding gift when it's this terrific! I think they'll agree that this one is worth the wait! Beautiful!

mgshaw 02-22-2009 09:16 AM

Very pretty!! It can now be termed an aniversary present!!! :D

Knot Sew 02-22-2009 09:16 AM

Beautiful, great job :D

Celeste 02-22-2009 09:17 AM

Wow, you're never afraid of a challenge, are you? 8) Once they see this, they'll think, who cares if it's late? it's OURS!

dreamer2009 02-22-2009 09:53 AM

Terrific Quilt Patrice.

patricej 02-22-2009 10:29 AM

thanks, all, VERY much! :-)

this is the first quilt i've ever made that i want to make again. i'm usually "so over" a layout by the time i get the top done. i'm going to use a different pallet for the next one, and keep in mind all the things i learned making this one.

nooooooooooo ... it won't be done in a week. i have to choose my fabs first. that will take ages. i'll probably change my mind 57 times before i settle on the set.

k3n 02-22-2009 02:23 PM

Patrice, it's stunning! You're obviously not scared of the dreaded HSTs!!

K x

PS Can you adopt me if you make your family such great gifts?! :D

grammo013 02-22-2009 04:04 PM

Patrice you have a year to present the couple with a wedding gift before it is late.

that is gorgeous. You are getting me hooked on HST's. May I ask where you got the pattern?

thanks
Linda

quiltwoman 02-22-2009 04:05 PM

Beautiful!

I sure hope so, I have one unfinished and it is 14 months after the wedding, with another wedding next month that I haven't even started thinking about, so it is sure to be at least a year before they see it too.

The quilt is gorgeous btw.

Marcia 02-22-2009 04:36 PM

Patrice--you done good, girl! :D I remember when you first posted the center block and I was blown away by it. The quilt is spectacular!!! How big is it?

sewsewquilter 02-22-2009 04:54 PM

stunning!

patricej 02-22-2009 06:40 PM

thanks for the compliments. :P

it's a bit over 60" x 60"

the pattern is my own design. i think it's an original. i assume there are similar patterns out there somewhere, but i don't remember seeing one exactly like it anywhere else.

Jim's Gem 02-22-2009 06:44 PM

Beautiful quilt Patrice. I think they will enjoy it plenty and not be upset that it's late. My latest wedding quilt was delivered 2 days before their 2nd anneversary!! Most of mine average about 5 -6 months late. I have gotten a few out on time but........

Shadow Dancer 02-22-2009 07:27 PM

Beautiful Patrice!! :) They are going to love it!

Shemjo 02-22-2009 07:28 PM

Stunning quilt, Patrice! I'm sure it will be appreciated whenever it gets there. I agree that at the wedding, there are too many gifts to really appreciate a one of a kind quilt like this!

littlehud 02-22-2009 07:30 PM

Arriving just in time. The new has worn off the presents they got at the wedding so it was time for some new ones. That quilt is wonderful. You always amaze me.

quiltnana 02-22-2009 07:31 PM

It's a 1yr 4month anniversary gift :D :D . It is beautifully done.

Janstar 02-22-2009 07:32 PM

Beautiful Patrice! We expect nothing less though!

gcathie 02-22-2009 07:58 PM

Wow that is awesome and they are gonna love it .....:-)

What a beautiful job you did on that. Nice work, Patrice. I have your nieces address so, just ask me for it

Debbie1 02-22-2009 08:48 PM

What a beautiful quilt to cuddle under. How lucky they are!

marla 02-27-2009 02:15 PM

I love your color choices and the pattern. You have inspired me to do a quilt in that palette. Thank you for sharing!

Quilting G 02-27-2009 04:25 PM

G

PS is is beautiful....

Tiffany 03-02-2009 11:55 AM

Oooh Patrice, what a great quilt! If they are unhappy over it being a year and four months late, just send it to me for my upcoming anniversary. Looking at the photo though, I have to wonder what the quilt underneath looks like.

sewnsewer2 03-02-2009 01:41 PM

Well I'd say it was worth the wait! Beautiful job!!
