From orphan blocks...
4 Attachment(s)
I got these orphan blocks of flying geese rectangles (made by members of the guild) from my guild to make a charity quilt for a women's shelter in the area. I didn't want to make an all flying geese quilt so took some of the original rectangles apart and tried to match up the colors as best as I could to make the diamond blocks. I liked the bright colors and added the yellow to make it really happy. I hope it goes to a person in need and it makes them smile... I enjoyed figuring out how to put it together and quilting it. I don't particularly like putting someone else's work together but found it became "a labor of love...":)

I think you did an awesome job, and I want to thank you for doing it for a charity, some one will be happy to get such a wonderful quilt.

Great quilt, great ideas, too.
I like to occasionally get someone elses 'orphan' or ufo blocks. They go together so fast, plus I don't have any of my usual self-critical moments. It's pure enjoyment to see the blocks transformed into a quilt so quickly. The quilts aren't perfect, but they are done and generally look pretty good. |
It's wonderful! Well done. :D
