Our daughter lost her German Shepard a couple of weeks ago so my wife goes to the pound to see if they found him. Well she found something alright..........

Her name is "Baby" and she is a Lab/Australian Shepard mix and is 2 months old. The pound had an outbreak of Distemper and they ended up euthanizing the entire population. She left 3 days before it all went down. But after a good once over by our vet he gave her a good bill of health and she is good to go!

"Nobody puts Baby in the corner" :-D

Awww, what a sweet little cutie pie. So glad you were able to rescue her. Congratulations on your new family member! I'm sure she'll bring lots of joy and laughter into your home.

I’m sorry your daughter lost her shepherd.

It is so funny watching her grow up so far. She gets a look in her face and its a look of mischief and the way she gallops off you know she is fixing to get into something.

When we adopted her the shelter spaded, chipped, dewormed, did the first round of shots and gave us a voucher for her rabies shot for the $75 adoption fee. When they did the spading the vet said she had a heart murmur and gave us the option to back out. But I knew what they would have done to her so I told my wife to bring the little girl home anyway. At least I can make sure the rest of her life is a loved one.

The day before yesterday we took her to our vet and he gave her the second round of shots, checked her stitches and did a thorough check up to verify the murmur and she did not have one. The other vet was listening to her erratic breathing because she is a hunting dog and made the wrong assessment. So needless to say the weight of the world was lifted off of my shoulders when we heard the good news!

Good for you for adopting! I'm jealous and it's because I live and work at a homeless shelter and because of laws or whatever.... we can't have pets.

thequilterslink 04-01-2011 05:38 AM

She is adorable!

julia58 04-01-2011 05:39 AM

I just love all of the doggie pics of your pets. Haven't made the decision to get a dog. I want a small dog!

sewgull 04-01-2011 06:12 AM

I'm so glad you rescued her. She's a darling little girl. I don't think I could have resisted that sweet little face either.

Lucky Baby! I love Dirty Dancing by the way.....!!! :) She's a cutie!!

irishrose 04-01-2011 07:47 AM

Welcome to the real world, little cutie. I have a Border Collie/Lab who looks very similar. Moira is NOT overactive which I understand is not uncommon when you mix two active breeds. Shelter dogs are special!

HummerGardenCrafts 04-01-2011 07:49 AM

AAWWWwww!!! So cute!
