took a break from quilting to day to experiment on making this pan handle. I lined with insulbrite. Did run "quilting" stitches vertically so guess did sort of quilt today? Using scraps of sort of a thin canvas fabric - like you find in the home decor section of JoAnn's.

wonderful idea! How difficult was it to turn all the material (being that it's all so thick) right side in after you sewed it?

What a great idea and you did a really nice job. With our electric stove I never had a problem with my pan handles heating up but that changed when we switched to gas. I may have to try my hand at making one of these.

I have made a lot of those and I have a pattern that I developed and they are very easy to make. I use a double sided prequilted fabric and you cna use any thing that is thick like a denim or some such fabric wiht batting or insulbrite in it. I used bias binding on mine. I sold a set of them for $12.00 a few uears ago. Yours looks nice nad they are great for cooking in cast iron skillets. I have one on my big skillet that is sitting on the stove. I call them panhandlers. Have a great day Huggies, Fay

What a great idea. My iron skillets are waiting for theirs!
