Paper piecing star wallhanging
3 Attachment(s)
I'm practicing the paper piecing technique so I can start on a pattern I received as a gift. I thought I'd start with something simpler, and this seemed like fun. I found free patterns online, made three 12-inch star patches, sashed and bordered them, and then started to have fun with the quilting. I was recently at the quilt show in Lancaster PA, and I bought a book about feathers. I started doodling on paper, liked what I saw, and started to implement those designs in the quilt. I almost like the back better than the front! Hope you enjoy looking too.

Great stars! The back is gorgeous.

Wow great job! Very pretty stars and feathers!

Definitely reversable. Nice job on both PP and quilting. And I wouldn't exactly call that star a beginner PP pattern. You appear to have jumped in with both feet and then proceeded to synchronize swim out swan lake! I think you are ready to tackle your gift pattern now.

That is so pretty. Wish I could do feathers like that. I can draw nice ones on paper or I like them. Its the machine to cloth and yes practice practice. Looks like you've got it. Thanks for sharing. Please share the other when you get it done

Great job! Love it! And the quilting looks awesome!

If I were you, I'd keep staring at my excellent quilting on the back, too! But I love the fabrics on the front ...
