Paris Plaid

This pattern is from the May/June 2011 issue of McCall's Quilting magazine. I loved it and bought myself the kit for Christmas last year. I just finished it yesterday and I am thrilled with how it turned out. It's bigger than I thought it would be - about 66" x 90" completed. The kit included a red/while checkered print for the binding but I decided to use black as I thought it would compliment the border fabric better.
The fabrics in this kit are gorgeous. I don't know why stores don't stock more like this. I was in my LQS on the weekend to drop off my General's Wives quilt to be longarmed, and I looked around and didn't see anything as nice as these ones. th Front (above) Back (above). I scored the deal of the century on the backing fabric last week. It was on a clearance/discontinued table at Fabricland for $3 a meter. I remember when they brought this fabric in a couple years ago because I really liked it but didn't want to pay $14 a meter for it. Detail (above). I love this fabric with the Eiffel Tower and the words. I have always really liked toile, and I hardly ever see it in the quilting stores. |
Oh, I really like that...love the plaid effect. Well done :)

Very pretty. I am having trouble with my computer tonight so I am not getting to comment on all the quilts but they
are sure pretty. |
I'm not a lover of Plaid, but this quilt is the exception. Very pretty. Thanks for sharing.
