Here is more progress of my ten minute block. I added another row of the green (suggested by Klgreene, great idea BTW!) and a potential border.

What do you all think of the border?

None of is sewn together yet. The blocks are just laying side by side.

Thank you for looking!

I'm liking it!

I think the border idea is great, but can you arrange it so that no border square is right next to a sq of the same color? If not, I would do a thin inner border of something else entirely, then do the squares for the border.

In any case, very colorful and cheerful -- it will be a great baby quilt.

I like what she said! Maybe the purple butterfly for a border? thin border? I love the varied squares on the outside.

Hey - she read my mind! I was thinking a thin plain border, then the squares would make the center pop. Love the colors ~ you must be close to 10 min. time frame after making all these. lol

All I can say is WOW, WOW, WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cjomomma 05-23-2011 04:45 PM

Thank you!!

I like the idea of a thinner inner border. I will work on it tomorrow if I get a chance.

Now if you saw me at Walmart you would think I forgot to look on a mirror when I got dressed. :-)

Heid 05-23-2011 06:36 PM

Very nice! I like your bright fabrics, and liked the border even with two squares of the same fabrics occasionally side by side.

GREAT JOB!!

purplefiend 05-23-2011 07:19 PM

I can't do my 3D bowtie blocks the "easy way", I can never
get the center seam to come out flat.
I do mine a totally different way. I'm working on a red, white and blue version, it'll be a quilt of valor.

earthwalker 05-23-2011 07:47 PM

Looks great...I really like the idea of a thin inner border and maybe a binding of the same colour. Your quilts are always lovely, so whatever you choose will be great.

feffertim 05-23-2011 08:13 PM

I think adding the thin border first, and then the squares, is a good idea. Either way, it is a very pretty quilt.

sidmona 05-24-2011 04:11 AM

Real cute - love the border!

I tried as you suggested but no matter what I did there was always 1 that would match up. LOL!! I like the inner boreder idea. Thank you!!

Gatormom3 05-24-2011 04:33 AM

I agree - an inner plain border and then the squares. Lovely!

dorismary2001 05-24-2011 04:50 AM

In my message sent a short time ago, I suggested arranging the blocks so you got a four patch arrangement where the four squares come together and I see you've had that idea from another person as well.

That's exactly what you are getting where your border touches the blocks. That's a great addition!
