Pastel scrapy quilt

2 Attachment(s)
This quilt was made from scraps from 2 other quilts! This summer I decided that as each project was completed, the left over scraps had to be cut and organized. First I cut 5 " sqs(charms), then 2 1/2" strips(jelly rolls), then 2 1/2" sqs from smaller pieces. I also cut 1 1/2" strips or sqs for a postage stamp quilt. I love not having all those pieces scattered all over and it is so easy to start a scrap project.

I love how the use of florals, plaids, and tones on tones, all come together to make such a beautiful quilt. I want to do a quilt with plaids and this shows how they can work with other designs. And I love your organization of left overs. That I should be so organized. I am always just too anxious to get on to the next project. May have to slow down and try that. Great hint

What a great idea. I would like to get that organized which would pay off in the long run as your lovely quilt proves!! Great job!

Your quilt is beautiful. I like to manage my scraps to. After they are cut into usable blocks I forget about them. But that nagging pile of scraps to cut into block haunts me until I get it done. I love it when I can just go to my bins of cut pieces and start sewing.

Love your quilt. I have been doing to same thing with my "leftovers" --So much easier to store them already cut and ready to dip into whenever the mood strikes! Thanks for sharing.

LeslieFrost 12-06-2011 09:41 AM

Beautiful! Love the colors and the variety. I love a 'bricks' pattern also -- takes the focus off of seam matching!

But I bet you still have lots of scraps left!!
